How to export a Baserow table to PDF

Baserow doesn't have a built-in "export this row as a PDF" button — its own export options are CSV/Excel/JSON, which work for moving data between systems but produce nothing you'd hand to a client or print. BaserowPDF fills that specific gap: connect a table, configure one report template, and turn any row into a branded PDF document in under five minutes.

Why a generic PDF exporter isn't enough

Most "connect an API, get a PDF" tools — webhook-to-PDF services, generic document-generation platforms — treat every field the same way: pull the value, print it as text. For a Baserow table that's a real loss. A single-select field with a colored "Urgent" pill becomes the word urgent. A linked record becomes a bare row ID or, at best, a list of IDs with no context. An image attachment becomes a filename or a raw URL. None of that is what the table actually looks like when you're looking at it in Baserow.

How BaserowPDF maps each field type

  • Single & multiple select — rendered as colored pills, using Baserow's own palette. The PDF looks like the table, not a CSV dump of it.
  • Linked records — fetched from the linked table and laid out as a real sub-table (primary field plus the first few columns, capped at ten rows), not a list of numeric IDs.
  • Attachments — the first image attachment is downscaled and embedded directly in the document; additional files are listed by name.
  • Numbers, ratings, dates, durations, booleans, formulas and rollups — each has a considered rendering (currency-formatted numbers, star ratings, localized dates, and so on).
  • Anything unsupported or unusual — falls back to a readable text version rather than breaking the render. A new or obscure field type never produces a blank page or a crash.

See the field mapping section on the homepage for a visual side-by-side of a generic exporter's output versus BaserowPDF's.

Setting it up

  1. Create a read-only, database-scoped Baserow API token (the connect form walks you through exactly where to generate one).
  2. Paste your Baserow table URL and the token — BaserowPDF reads the table's field definitions automatically.
  3. Pick a title field, choose which other fields to include and in what order, add a logo and accent color, and preview against a real row.
  4. Generate a PDF for one row with a click, or batch-generate up to 50 rows at once.

There's no design tool to learn and nothing to install — it's a hosted web app, and the whole flow is built to take under five minutes from sign-in to your first PDF.

What it costs

Nothing, currently. BaserowPDF is 100% free with no credit card required — fair-use limits (120 PDFs/hour, 50 rows per batch) keep it sustainable on shared hosting without needing to charge anyone yet.
